We started with 40% over our business plan and we are even getting numbers higher than that. We are extremely surprised by the response. Given the response, we are now looking to open more BIBA standalone kids’ store, approximately 10-12 in the next 6-12 months. I see BIBA kids category to be 100 crore business by next year, said Siddharth Bindra, managing director, BIBA.
BIBA Girls' which is the kids wear segment under BIBA, has launched three stores recently, two in Mumbai and one in Bengaluru.
BIBA Kids’ category started with products for 2-12 years of age group. However, with increasing demand, the brand decided to widen their offerings to slightly older girls’ aging upto 15 years.
Initially BIBA Girls used to be retailed out of our BIBA stores. The increasing demand for BIBA Girls amongst the customers due to its great designs and affordable pricing gave us the confidence to launch three stand alone stores recently. We are certain that BIBA Girls will continue to grow and one can expect many more BIBA Girls outlets in the near future, said Bindra.
Incepted in 2004, BIBA products are available through 226 stores in 103 cities, apart from presence in retail chains including Shopper’s Stop, Lifestyle, Pantaloons and Central.
